Code of Conduct for Parents/Spectators
Parents / Spectators have a great influence on children’s enjoyment and success in football. All children play football because they first and foremost love the game – its fun.
It is important to remember that however good a child becomes at football within our club, it is important to reinforce the message to parents /spectators that positive encouragement will contribute to:
- Children enjoying football.
- A sense of personal achievement.
- Improving the child’s football skills and techniques.
- Develop the child’s social skills and techniques.
A parent’s / spectator’s expectations and attitudes have a significant bearing on a child’s attitude towards:
- Other players.
All people involved in the club are responsible for ensuring that all parents/ spectators within our club are always positive and encouraging towards all of the children not just their own.
Mountview Boys & Girls FC encourage parents / spectators to:
- Applaud the opposition as well as own team.
- Avoid coaching the child during the game.
- Not to shout and scream.
- Respect for referee’s decision.
- Give attention to each of the children involved in football not just the most talented.
- Give encouragement to everyone to participate in football.
All people involved in the club are responsible for ensuring that all parents / spectators within our club agree and adhere to the club’s Code of Conduct and Child Protection Policy.
All child protection complaints must be made directly to the child protection officer. All other complaints can only be made in writing and addressed to the Secretary, Mountview Boys & Girls FC, Mountview Youth & Community Centre, Clonsilla, Dublin 15. The committee who meets at least once a month will deal with all written complaints accordingly and will provide a written response to all complaints within 30 days of the committtee meeting taken place where the initial complaint was discussed.
If the committee deems that their is a conflict of interest with a committee member then an independent three person sub committee will investigate the complaint and report back to the committee who will then respond to the complainant within the 30 day response period.
