Dear Club Members/Parents/Guardians

the committee over the last few months has been reviewing how the club operates from top to bottom and where we need to make improvements and build into the future.

Following on from this review, the committee have made a number of strategic decisions, which will benefit all the players and coaches in the club in the medium to long term.

The first of these changes is that we have decided to employ a Director of Coaching.

We have agreed terms and a working model with Mick Foley who is our current U15 Premier manager. Mick plied his trade firstly with MBGFC as a young player before moving to Stella Maris and then moving onto Liverpool Football Club where he was in their premier league squad during seasons 2002/03 and 2003/04.

Mick also has numerous Republic of Ireland international caps at schoolboy and U19/21 level and also represented Ireland in the FIFA World Youth Championships in 2001. Mick brings a wealth of experience to this role and has been coached at the highest level through his club and international experience.

His coaching style and knowledge of underage football is second to none and he would be a fantastic asset to any schoolboy club in the country. Mick will have overall responsibility for our academy section and will also be working with each team and assessing their needs and requirements and will implement coaching strategies based on those needs. These will also include goal-keeping coaching.

The second of the changes we are implementing is that we are moving to a fee’s model instead of the current annual €50 pre-season registration and €5 weekly subs model we use.

From next season every player that is registered in the club will receive a club tracksuit, a club rain jacket, a set of match day shorts and socks and a brand new ball and bib for training (Which the managers will hold). These are shown in the image below.

We have invested heavily in our facilities and also in improving our pitches, which are now one of the best playing surfaces in any public park Dublin.

Each team has two weekly winter training sessions between October and March of each season and we are heavily investing into the new proposed full size all weather in Mountview Park in partnership with Mountview Fortlawn Community Campus.

2014/15 Season Fee’s

Academy Section:

A €30.00 Once Off Registration Fee, which includes insurance, club training kit and then a weekly pay as you play fee of €3.00 per week per child.

U8’s to U11’s Teams: €200.00 Per Player

First installment of €100.00 to be paid by 31st August 2014

Second installment €50.00 to be paid by 10th of October 2014

Third and final installment of €50.00 to be paid by 6th of February 2015

U12’s to U16’s Teams: €220.00 Per Player

First installment of €100.00 to be paid by 31st August 2014

Second installment €60.00 to be paid by 10th of October 2014

Third and final installment of €60.00 to be paid by 6th of February 2015

**Please note that any team that wishes to have private coach transport for the season then an additional €70.00 extra per player will be added to their annual fee’s which will be split and charged between the second and third installment payments.

We understand that families with more than one child in the club will be under pressure to pay these fee’s so we will provide a 20% discount to every second and subsequent child in each family based on the younger child or children in the family. This applies only to direct siblings living in the same family home.

Payments can only be made into the reception area of Mountview Youth & Community Centre and they can be made at any time once your child has been selected for his/her team for the new season, so you can pay (For example) €5 or €10 per week off your child’s fee’s once the season starts.

Each team trains/plays for an average of 40 weeks per year with an average team spending 5 hours a week on training and match days. This is 200 hours per annum your child spends under the supervision of their managers and coaches in a fun and safe environment that is keeping them active and where they are developing their football skills.

If you break down the cost you are paying, it means for €1.00 Per hour your child is getting kitted out in full club attire, training in top class local facilities, receiving quality coaching (which we are investing more in the future) and being active and developing good social skills in a relaxed fun environment.

If you have any questions or queries on this please do not hesitate to contact any member of the committee.
